We’ve teamed up with Sauna at the Sea to offer this to our guests at Serenity as part of their stay. Opened in January ’26, it’s a beautiful handmade outdoor sauna sitting right between the woods and the coast.
Offering stunning views over the Solway Coast and Lake District, the sauna is available to everyone, but our guests can also book free private sessions.
Whether you’re resting your legs after a day in Dalbeattie Forest or just want to watch the sunset over the water through the steam, it’s a perfect way to end a day in Dumfries & Galloway.
The Details:
- The Full Experience: Each 55-minute session includes the sauna & cold dip tubs for those who want the proper Nordic “hot-cold” experience.
- Facilities: There are indoor changing rooms, toilets, and hot showers on-site.
- Your Choice of Pace: You can join a Social Sauna to chat with others, or book a private hour (up to 6 people).
- Complimentary Use: While the sauna is open to the public, entry is included in your stay at Lodge 22. (Two free sessions for bookings over 5 nights and discounts for shorter stays.)

Yes. While there is usually a charge for the public, guests staying for 5 nights or more at Serenity 22 Barend receive complimentary access to the sauna sessions as part of their booking. Guests staying for a shorter time also receive a discount off the usual prices.
