Review of Our Evening Meal at The Beagle Country Pub
Five of us enjoyed a meal at The Beagle on a Wednesday evening. It was busy, but we booked a table by phone about an hour in advance for 6pm. A few people who hadn’t booked came in while we were there, so they had approximately an hour to wait for a table and food.
I think it was busier than some evenings because Wednesday is quiz night. We didn’t stay for the quiz, but it sounded as though it was going well when we left.
The waitress service was efficient and friendly. There’s a good selection of beers and wines, including local real ales on draught. A Five Kingdoms Prentice IPA (4.6%) went down well.
Our mains and puddings were: Vegan Burger, Macaroni Cheese, Cheeseburger (x2), Mushroom Risotto, Sticky Toffee Pudding (x2), Eton Mess (x3).
To sum up… everyone enjoyed their food, giving everything 7, 8 or 9 out of 10. The bill came to ~£115 including drinks (beer and wine). This seemed a little pricey, but costs and prices for everything are increasing at the moment! We all thoroughly enjoyed everything we had, so we’re happy to recommend it.
