The Lodge & Loch Views

A Genuine Scandinavian Log Cabin

Serenity 22 isn’t a modern imitation; it’s a genuine Scandinavian timber lodge. With thick log walls that hold the warmth and large windows for a fantastic view of Barend Loch, it’s a place to relax and unwind after a day of exploration or activity.

You can use the video tour and gallery below to get a better feel for the layout and setting, or read through our latest guest reviews to see why people enjoy staying here.

For a full list of what’s included and amenities, see Plan Your Stay.

A quick (1:20) tour of the lodge, the views, and the Barend site (muted by default):

Views Over the Loch

Serenity 22 is elevated and south-facing, giving you a clear view across Barend Loch. It’s a natural sun trap and the best spot in the lodge to watch the local birdlife or enjoy a quiet coffee on the private balcony.

Authentic Timber Character

Built from solid logs, the lodge has a sense of quiet and warmth that modern builds can’t replicate. The natural wood interior creates a cosy, relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for switching off after a day of exploring.

A Short Walk to the Beach

While the loch is right outside, the sea is just down the road. A scenic 10-minute walk takes you directly to the cliffs and sands of Sandyhills Beach and the start of the Solway Coastal path.
