We popped to Caddie’s Cove Bistro for lunch after a coastal walk. As it’s located in the golf club, we weren’t sure what it would be like, but we received a warm welcome. It was midweek and fairly quiet; the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff were friendly.
We sat by the window and enjoyed the surroundings. There’s outdoor seating too but it wasn’t quite warm enough when we visited.
We’d previously enjoyed lunch at The Ark in Kippford and were aware that it’s the same family running Caddie’s Cove. We picked from the ‘Light Bites’ menu and I thoroughly enjoyed a Homemade Red Onion Quiche with fries and salad. My partner and son had paninis, which were also very good.
The staff were happy to cater to our diet and slightly adjusted some of the ingredients for us. Portion sizes were good and we had a relaxed meal, looking out on the golf course (and watching a few shots on the nearest tee).
When we visited in April, I think they were only open til 4 pm. However, when chatting to one of the staff, he mentioned that they were starting evening service too (Thu-Sat at time of writing). We’ve since seen that there’s now an evening menu, and they also serve breakfasts, so we look forward to returning to sample those next time!
