One of our favourite things about the lodge is sitting out on the balcony with a coffee and looking out over Barend Loch.
We’ve added some new bistro-style chairs to make that a bit more comfortable.
They’re great for a quiet breakfast, a drink in the evening, or just sitting and taking things in.
There are cushions and blankets in the storage box on the balcony for you to use.
(Just a small favour: please pop them back in the box afterwards so they stay dry.)

You’ll be able to get a good view of the stars from the lodge balcony, but for truly dark skies, you can visit any of the three Forestry and Land Scotland visitor centres which overlook the unlit heart of Galloway Forest Park.
