Coastal lodge near Dalbeattie with loch views
We had a really lovely few days staying at 22 Barend.
The lodge is really clean and comfortable, extremely peaceful, with stunning views of the loch.
We would highly recommend it.

We loved visiting Bainloch Deer Park. Coffee and cake whilst watching the deer.

Our 9yr old & 4yr old love Mabie Farm Park. If you have your hiking boots and want an adventure try Criffel; steep ascent but fantastic views!

Lovely comfortable lodge with lots of games to enjoy, everything we needed and some nice little extras.
We have been coming to this site on/off for the past 6 years and we love it. Super peaceful and fantastic beach within walking distance.

We were riding the Gralloch gravel bike race at Gatehouse of Fleet. The forest and trails were amazing and the village was lovely too. We also found fab riding in the forests and hill right by the lodge!

*A big serving spoon or two would be great – Trying to serve pasta sauce in a slotted spoon was interesting!!!

Red Deer [Range] is always worth a drive. Carrick Beach is fantastic! The dark sky is worth looking at, both here & the forest but you can’t beat a sunrise & sunset over [Barend] loch.

Great walks on Sandyhills beach exploring the coves, shell beach at Kippford also.

Visited cafe at ‘Deer Park‘ which is well worth a visit, the ‘Ark‘ at Kippford is lovely also. Played Golf at Colvend & Craigieknowes.
The current closure of the ‘Anchor’ is not good, hope it re-opens soon!!
Ate out at ‘Mariner‘ & Laurie Arms, both excellent.

Have enjoyed getting out finding different walks, hubby played golf. Had couple swim sessions.
Loved beach walks + even had a surprise of a Puffin flying in front of us (I was too slow with camera)

This was our 3rd stay and also in this lodge again. Loving the renovations. This place is just perfect for resting, recharging the batteries.
