An artisan bakery in Castle Douglas, that serves delicious organic savoury and sweet snacks.
I’m not sure we’d have noticed and gone inside this bakery if we hadn’t already read some good reviews about it online. It’s on a side street and doesn’t have a shop front, but we’re glad we located it.
They use high quality organic flour and ingredients and specialize in hand crafted slow-fermented traditional bread.
The fresh breads looked amazing and so we had a generous slice of red onion and olive focaccia which was absolutely delicious. We also tried a blondie that was very tasty too. We’ll definitely go a back and also try some of the other delicious looking items. There is a good range of savoury, including interesting focaccias and quiches, as well as cakes and pastries.
We didn’t have chance to look around the shop area but at a quick glance we noticed that there were things like nuts, dried fruits, jams, chutneys, etc. for sale and some things were available as eco friendly refills. We’ll check out the shop more next time.
Definitely worth a visit.
