We’re excited to announce a recent upgrade at the lodge – a brand new landing area at the top of the stairs! Frosted glass fills the frames, allowing light to pass through and keeping a sense of openness with ample light for the landing and hallway. The design not only ensures privacy for anyone inside the room, as they can’t be seen from the other side, but also maintains the open and airy feel.
When more than one family stays in the lodge, or if you come with grandparents or extended family, the lodge now offers even greater flexibility for sleeping arrangements. With three distinct bedrooms, now everyone can enjoy their own private space:
- Master bedroom upstairs with a luxurious king size bed and en-suite bathroom
- Large bedroom upstairs with 4 single beds with balcony and view over Barend Loch
- Twin bedroom downstairs opposite the bathroom
Before…
The open plan bedroom at the top of the stairs offered a spacious feel. However, we were conscious that the lack of privacy could limit its functionality. We’d experienced that ourselves when staying with friends, so we thought we’d do something about it.

After…
The new landing creates a separate bedroom upstairs, so that more guests can have privacy in their bedrooms.
Preserving the bright and airy atmosphere upstairs was a priority. That’s why we opted for frosted glass instead of traditional wood panels all round. This solution allows ample natural light to flow through while maintaining privacy for those inside the bedrooms.

This allows lots of light through, but means that those in the room can’t be seen.
With the ability to comfortably sleep 8 guests, the lodge is ideal for families of all sizes and multi-generational getaways. Now that there are 3 separate bedrooms, friends, family, and children can all have their own space to relax and unwind.
We plan to continue improving the lodge. If you’ve stayed and have any ideas or suggestions, please let us know.
