This chip shop is open 8 months of the year from March to November. It’s a little further away than the one in Dalbeattie.
If you go to the swimming pool at the nearby Parkdean caravan park, it’s conveniently situated next door.
It’s also only a couple of mins stroll from the beach where there are some interesting rock formations and a lighthouse, which is – unusually – square and currently the second oldest lighthouse in Scotland.
Although the chip shop was busy, we were served very quickly. The regular portions of chips were smaller than we expected (£2.40 each – Sep 22). The chips were good; there were quite a few crispy small bits, which of course is a matter of preference!
